I became a fool who is married to a villain: chapter 12

Chapter 12 Actually, it’s not their fault for being careless. Just now, they were caught up in the excitement, watching Hua Zuiyue and thinking it would be amusing to see her snatch the training food from the spirit beast's mouth. Their attention was entirely on Qinglian and Hua Zuiyue, so they naturally ignored the cakes. Throughout the whole process, Hua Zuiyue remained quiet and didn't make much noise while eating. They didn't even notice when she had finished all the pastries. Hua Zuiyue curled her lips and smiled silently. So... Why should she go to the trouble of fighting spirit beasts for training food when she could enjoy the cakes without competing for them? She is such a clever little girl. The faces of Xuan Yi and Qinglian were not very good-looking, and their expressions were a bit strange. If they hadn't known Hua Zuiyue was a complete fool, they would have suspected she was deliberately playing tricks on them. "Hua Zuiyue, since you ate the pastries I brought, shouldn't you listen to me?" Xuan Yi walked over with a cold face, moving elegantly, and looked down at Hua Zuiyue. Qinglian chimed in, as if coaxing her, "Yes, since you've eaten the pastries we brought, you should behave." Hua Zuiyue blinked.  So, just because she ate their pastries, she had to listen to them?  Did they get kicked in the head by a donkey? According to their logic, wouldn't chefs rule the world? Idiotic! Hua Zuiyue pursed her lips, refusing to converse with such fools. She shot the two girls a look of contempt and turned her back on them. Xuan Yi: "..." Qinglian: "..." How dare this idiot look down at them? This was utterly ridiculous.  “What do you mean by that?”   Xuan Yi ceased her charade and scowled instead. She further went on and said, “We brought you food, So don’t act ungrateful.” Qinglian repeated, “Xuan Yi is right. We gave you something to eat for your own good. If you know what's best for you, go and snatch the food from the spirit beast's mouth. You can eat the pastry, and I won't pursue this matter.” As for Hua Zuiyue, she completely disregarded their presence and didn’t even bother to listen and simply dismissed their words as worthless. Despite the attempts of the group which included Qinglian and the others to threaten and convince her, she sat without flinching, expressionless. This fool! “Hua Zuiyue, listen to me. Hey, you, are you a deaf-mute or something, cannot even listen to us?” Some gods formed a circle to watch Hua Zuiyue again. Yet there she sat, perfectly composed, while Qinglian and Xuan Yi fumed, making the whole scene quite laughable. Xuan Yi's expression was grim, and her patience was at its limit. Qinglian, wary of provoking her anger, scrambled to find another solution. The commoner gossip whispered that Qinglian was a fool, yet no fool would act like this. Qinglian decided to embarrass Hua Zuiyue by kicking her in front of the spirit beast. However, just as Qinglian prepared to deliver the strong kick, Hua Zuiyue unexpectedly stood up. "It fell. " Qinglian failed to stop on time and she kicked the air instead and in that process landed on the splits in the middle of the ground. Pain shot through her ankle, almost unbearable. "Is it dead?" Hua Zuiyue wondered aloud, turning to find Qinglian in a comical split. Hua Zuiyue was speechless. These deities have unique ways of amusing themselves, she thought. Hiding her mirth, Hua Zuiyue let out a weary sigh. “What are you doing?” she questioned as she knelt besides Qinglian, the latter seemed in acute pain. "The spirit beast fell," Hua Zuiyue muttered. "I don't know if it's dead." The spirit beast, Xuan Yi's cherished pet, had been eating its food when it suddenly foamed at the mouth and collapsed. Xuan Yi, seeing this, ignored Qinglian and rushed to her pet's side. Qinglian, in agony, almost screamed at Hua Zuiyue, "you fool, Help me up!" After a moment's hesitation, Hua Zuiyue obediently nodded. "Okay." Hua Zuiyue slowly walked over and helped Qinglian, who was stuck into a split. It's rare to find a villainess as kind as her. Qinglian, seething with frustration, shook off Hua Zuiyue's hand and raised her own to slap her. Hua Zuiyue blinked, turned her head, and then pushed Qinglian, who lost her balance and fell again. Hua Zuiyue pursed her lips, her innocent eyes blinking with confusion and surprise. "Ah, why did you fall again?" Qinglian: "..." Good intentions are not always rewarded. Maybe she should have just left her on the ground! Qinglian was momentarily stunned but quickly prepared to retaliate against Hua Zuiyue. Fortunately, Xuan Yi's voice stopped her. "Qinglian, come here!" Xuan Yi’s impatient call pulled Qinglian's attention away from Hua Zuiyue. Xuan Yi, holding her spirit beast that was foaming at the mouth, was anxious for Qinglian to use lotus seeds to clear the pet’s lungs. Qinglian reluctantly obeyed but made sure to drag Hua Zuiyue along. She couldn't let this little fool slip away. They had brought Hua Zuiyue out to embarrass her, but the situation had backfired. Qinglian was determined to turn the tables. The spirit pet's condition turned out to be mild food poisoning. Using the pet to humiliate Hua Zuiyue was no longer an option. As Xuan Yi and Qinglian contemplated their next move against Hua Zuiyue, an immortal maid hurried over and whispered something to Xuan Yi. Xuan Yi's face was tense. Qinglian, wary of upsetting her, cautiously asked, "What's wrong?" Xuan Yi glared at the oblivious Hua Zuiyue and said angrily, "The second prince is in the main hall." Xuan Yi didn’t know why the second prince had suddenly appeared but suspected it was to see his concubine, Hua Zuiyue. Qinglian’s face fell. "Then what should we do now?" "What else can we do? We have to take this fool back," Xuan Yi replied coldly. Xuan Yi liked the second prince and didn't want to leave a bad impression, so she had to abandon their plans to humiliate Hua Zuiyue. Qinglian was frustrated. Every time they tried to mess with Hua Zuiyue, something always went wrong. Her legs still ached, and she shot a hard glance at Hua Zuiyue, who kept her head lowered. Qinglian thought that if Hua Zuiyue wasn’t a fool and the second prince wasn’t a loser, they would probably be praised for being a good match. Suddenly, Qinglian had an idea. She stepped closer to Xuan Yi and tugged on her sleeve. "Yi Yi, I have a great idea to make that idiot get into trouble." Xuan Yi frowned. "What’s the idea?" Qinglian leaned over and whispered in Xuan Yi’s ear. Whatever she said made Xuan Yi's gloomy face brighten with a smile. Before leaving, Qinglian whispered something to Hua Zuiyue and gave her some food. Hua Zuiyue looked both strange and a bit excited, but still wore her dull expression and did whatever Qinglian said. Hua Zuiyue couldn’t help but admire their creativity in thinking of such a sinister trick. They had chosen to provoke Ye Yuehui, the big villain. As Hua Zuiyue followed them towards the main hall, many immortals watched her. The crown prince and the second prince were both inside. Qinglian and Xuan Yi stayed outside, encouraging Hua Zuiyue to go in and find Ye Yuehui. Fiddling with her clothes and looking shy, Hua Zuiyue asked, "Do I really have to say that? Will he be angry?" Qinglian smiled kindly. "He is your husband. You care about him, so how could he be angry?" "Go in quickly," she urged. "Staying here too long will make people suspicious." "I understand," Hua Zuiyue replied, then cautiously walked into the hall. She could feel Ye Yuehui’s eyes on her immediately. Raising her eyes to meet his gaze, Hua Zuiyue remembered what Qinglian and Xuan Yi had told her and couldn't help but click her tongue. (End of chapter)
